Can you tell us about the process of making your work?

Some painting and a lot of waiting to finally put something down, usually in the wrong spot.

How would you define your work in a few words (ideally in 3 words)?

In the air.

How did you come up with this painting idea? Is there any story behind this painting?

It’s part of a series I’ve been working on that all share a similar composition and process. The first painting in the series though was something I stumbled into after a bunch of other ideas turned out to be crap.

What colour is used the most in this painting?

Titanium White.

What would be the best way to exhibit your work?

I think they should be shown unframed with a little space and nice light, nothing too crazy.

Can you mention any artists you, lately or generally, take inspiration from?

Lately: Sean Landers, Paul Rouphail, Emily Mae Smith, Ann Craven.

How do you know when this painting was finished?

For this series, I am limiting myself to a certain number of elements, so once those are used up the painting is done I guess…

What about the place where you work? What’s your studio space look like?

I currently paint in the basement of my home. Not very glamorous, but it works for now.

Is there any particular message that you wish your viewers can take from this painting?

Littering is bad?

What does your mum think about your art?

She likes when I paint flowers.

Which exhibition did you visit last?

Jeffrey Gibson, Like a Hammer.

Which are your plans for the near future?

Make a few more paintings in this series, and hopefully find a place to show them.
