Can you tell us about the process of making your work?

It depends on the projects, whether I work alone or with my Superpoly duo. It can be very fast or very long. It also depends on the existence of intermediaries (craftsmen) and what type of support it is. But in general, I work very quickly. I make a drawing, a sculpture and I often come back to it 2 to 3 times with weeks or months apart.

How would you define your work in a few words (ideally in 3 words)?

Solar, moving and pop.

How did you come up with the idea of this artwork? Is there any story behind it?

We produced this work for a collective exhibition in our gallery, Etage project, in Copenhagen. The exhibition was called wearables. So we work around textiles, with scraps from our old work, like a boro from our old work. There are also fabrics from my «sunset» canvas series.

What colour is used the most in this artwork?

Blue, pink, yellow. The colors that speak the south of France.

What would be the best way to exhibit your work?

It depends on the work, generally I prefer to work in situ, in order to create a general atmosphere. But for isolated pieces the gallery is good.

Can you mention any artists you, lately or generally, take inspiration from?

Raoul Duffy, Franz West, Walter Swennen, Etorre Spaletti.

How do you know when this artwork was finished?

When it is exposed.

What about the place where you work? What’s your studio space look like?

I work in different space, in Hyéres in the Superpoly studio, it’s greenhouse at Thomas (Half superpoly) and in Paris in a large workshop with 2 artist friends, the two places have the particularity of being places simple but conducive to production.

What does your mum think about your art?

I think she doesn’t really understand. She finds it beautiful, but also scary..

Which exhibition did you visit last?

Nina Childress, in la foundation Ricard. Amazing.

Which are your plans for the near future?

Get out of my house and be able to see my friends. Otherwise the opening of a new space of “the villa Noailles in Hyéres, France” which we have decorated with Superpoly, as well as several exhibitions in preparation.
