Material Used: Ink on canvas
Studio Based: St. Germain, Paris
Can you tell us about the process of making your work?
I’m a digital painter. I usually play with 3-5 images (colors, composition, concept etc from different images ) to make one. The original idea never survive until the end. Sometimes I go from abstract to figurative without realizing it.
How would you define your work in few words (ideally in 3 words)?
New classical trick.
Is there any story behind the ‘Selfie on Stainless Steel’ painting?
In the army of selfie I’m a proud soldier. I take pictures that are not a reflection of real life. We filter to project an ideal. A distorted projection. This is exactly what I do when I project myself in front of a cold surface like steel. Is the truth in the context?
Can you name any artists you, lately or generally, take inspiration from?
Clyfford stil is my dad, Munch my Grandpa and Warhol my mum.
Creating a new painting can be a solitary process. If this applies to you, when you concentrate on a new artwork does it affect your social life at all?
When I’m at the gym, at a party or with friends I constantly think about ideas for paintings. I make them rise in the head slowly. Sometimes I prefer to work late at night and loneliness doesn’t bother me.
How do you know when a painting is finished?
When it’s sold 🙂
What about the place where you work? What’s your studio space like, and how does it affect your process?
When I do studio visit people are shocked to see a place without any colors, paint or brush. I’m a digital painter! 🙂
Which exhibition did you visit last?
Leonardo Da Vinci. What else?
What do you hope audiences will take from your work?
Any emotion would be welcome!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A vampire who loves the sun.
Is the glass half empty or half full?
Full of emptiness.
Which are your plans for the near future?
Exploring the infinite possibilities of digital innovation.
