Pending: Art Exhibition Fundraiser At San Mei

San Mei is pleased to announce our upcoming winter fundraiser, Pending, which launches online in December.

Drawing on the dual sense of suspension and waiting, particularly apt to the limbo in which we are all currently living, Pending is an online exhibition consisting of small artist-made objects which hang in space. We invited a number of artists to respond to this brief over the second lockdown, resulting in what will be an eclectic collection of objects that will be available to purchase from our website.

Pending aims to both fundraise for our upcoming 2020 programme as well as provide a vital source of income for artists who may have lost funds due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

This will be the first in a series of fundraising initiatives as we look to raise £36,000 over the coming months to support our next open call exhibition programme and education projects.

San Mei, Pending, 1-31 December 2020, Online Exhibition, Window Display

San Mei provides a vital platform for emerging artists at a crucial stage in their careers. Its successful open call programme gives artists the opprtunity to realise projects that might not otherwise have been realised.

Reaching our fundraising goal will mean we can support them with production costs and in reaching wider audiences, as well as engage our local Lambeth community with their work. All purchases from this exhibition are split 50/50 between the artists and our future projects.

Your support is warmly welcomed.
